David Lawrence, Jr.

We are thrilled to let you know that Kiwanis of Northeast Miami-Dade will be honoring David Lawrence, Jr. for his outstanding service to the children of Florida at their upcoming 62st Anniversary Gala on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 6:30 P.M. at the Kovens Center at FIU Biscayne Bay Campus.

David Lawrence Jr. retired in 1999 as publisher of The Miami Herald to work in the area of early childhood development and readiness. He chairs The Children’s Movement of Florida, aimed at making children the state’s top priority for investment. The David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Public School opened in 2006. He and Roberta, a master’s graduate in social work from Barry, live in Coral Gables and have 3 daughters, 2 sons and 7 grandchildren.

Knowing how philanthropic you are in the community, we were hoping you would extend your kindness to us as well, by donating a gift to our silent auction to help us raise money to benefit the children, local and international, served by Kiwanis.
